Follow the Money: $2.4 Billion in Investments, Major Round for Kalshi, and High Attention to AI — October 2026
In October 2026, the cryptocurrency sector maintained investment activity, with a total capital raised amounting to approximately $2.4 billion, according to Incrypted. The majority of the funding came from venture and corporate deals. At the same time, significant contributions were made to prediction market platforms, companies with Bitcoin reserves, and providers of computing infrastructure.
During the reporting period, the editorial team recorded 59 investment deals, 38 of which disclosed funding amounts. In other cases, financial terms were not disclosed.
The highest activity was observed in the segments of blockchain services, centralized finance (CeFi), decentralized finance (DeFi), and infrastructure solutions. Investors showed particular interest in projects related to artificial intelligence.

The largest deal in October was a $1 billion investment in Kalshi. The prediction market platform raised this amount in a Series G round co-led by Wellington Management and Sequoia Capital. More details about the deal can be found in the investment rounds section of the last week of the month.
In second place is Strive, a company specializing in building corporate reserves in Bitcoin. It raised $630 million through the issuance of Series SATS preferred shares and secured an additional $208 million through the exercise of previously issued warrants. The total funding from the two transactions amounted to $838 million. The placement was organized by Barclays Capital and Cantor Fitzgerald. The company uses Bitcoin as its primary reserve asset and develops investment products based on it. The capital is primarily intended for further accumulation of the asset and general corporate purposes.
In third place is HIVE Digital Technologies, which operates in the fields of Bitcoin mining and high-performance computing. It secured debt financing of $129 million through its subsidiary BUZZ Alpha Cloud. More details about the deal can be read in the same section mentioned above.
Investment Distribution by Categories
In October 2026, venture deals accounted for 57.1% of the total capital raised in the Web3 market, or about $1.37 billion. Corporate financing accounted for 42.7% ($1.02 billion), while the share of over-the-counter transactions did not exceed 1%.
At the same time, the editorial team recorded 11 mergers and acquisitions (M&A) deals, but their financial terms were not disclosed. This distribution reflects the significant role of corporate mechanisms in raising funds alongside traditional venture rounds.
Against this backdrop, the token sale sector appeared much more modest. Despite over 13 campaigns being conducted, their total result was only about $12 million. This indicates a substantial gap between institutional financing and capital raised through token sales.
Unlike the venture segment, where large rounds supported overall dynamics, the public offering market demonstrated restrained activity.
Token Sales
In October 2026, the token sale sector experienced a lull. During the reporting period, over 13 campaigns took place, through which projects collectively raised over $12 million. At the same time, the majority of funds were concentrated in the two largest placements — predict.fun ($5.8 million) and 1win Token ($3.9 million). Excluding these deals, the total funding for the remaining projects would be around $3 million.
The decline in activity is also indicated by the fact that the top five token sales of the month included placements of $600,000 and $20,000. Thus, despite some successful campaigns, the sector was characterized by low activity and high concentration of raised capital.

As of October 2026, the amount of capital raised in the Web3 market, according to Incrypted, was approximately $2.4 billion, an increase compared to September's $1.43 billion. The majority of the funding came from venture deals --- 57.1% ($1.37 billion). Corporate raises accounted for 42.7% ($1.02 billion), while over-the-counter operations made up less than 1% of the total volume. At the same time, the editorial team recorded 11 merger and acquisition (M&A) deals, although their financial terms were not disclosed.
The largest transactions of the month demonstrated investor interest in prediction markets, corporate bitcoin reserves, and computational infrastructure. The Kalshi round of $1 billion, two raises by Strive totaling $838 million, and debt financing for HIVE Digital Technologies of $129 million together accounted for about 82% of all capital recorded by Incrypted for October.
