Taiko Proposal 39 Completed, Supporting Permit and Permit2
The Proposal 39 of the Ethereum Layer 2 network Taiko has passed the community veto window and has been executed on both Ethereum L1 and Taiko L2. After the upgrade, the ERC20Vault of the Taiko bridge adds support for Permit and Permit2, allowing users to bridge tokens without initiating a separate Approve transaction. The gas limit for Ether payments on the Taiko bridge has been raised, and a new BridgedERC20V2 template has been deployed on both L1 and L2. The related functionalities have completed end-to-end testing, covering ETH, ERC20, ERC721, and ERC1155 assets as well as bidirectional bridging scenarios.
