Scholarships in Ukraine to Double from September 1
Starting from September 1, academic scholarships in Ukraine will double. The basic payment for higher education students will increase from 2000 to 4000 UAH per month, while for specialties with a higher scholarship amount, it will rise from 2550 to 5100 UAH. The Cabinet of Ministers has adopted a corresponding resolution that pertains to academic scholarships in both public and private educational institutions. The payment amounts from September 1 will be as follows: in vocational education -- 2500 UAH instead of 1250 UAH; in vocational higher education - 3020 UAH instead of 1510 UAH; in vocational higher education for specialties with increased scholarships - 3860 UAH instead of 1930 UAH; in higher education -- 4000 UAH instead of 2000 UAH; in higher education for specialties with increased scholarships -- 5100 UAH instead of 2550 UAH. Named and academic scholarships will also increase: for applicants in vocational education, they will amount to 5000 UAH, for vocational education -- 6040 UAH, and for higher education -- 8000 UAH per month. Payments for winners of Olympiads and competitions will also rise; for example, the presidential scholarship for winners of nationwide Olympiads will increase from 2600 to 5200 UAH. The state budget for 2026 has allocated 1.2 billion UAH more for academic and named scholarships than in the previous year.
