Osmosis Community Proposes to Terminate OSMO Inflation Issuance
The Osmosis community has initiated a proposal to terminate the inflation issuance of OSMO, stopping the creation of new tokens for staking rewards and community pool distribution. Staking rewards will be entirely derived from protocol revenue. Additionally, the daily vesting of developer tokens will be suspended. Approximately 51.9 million developer tokens will remain in the module account, and any future release will require a separate governance decision. The proposal is planned to be submitted on-chain on October 20, and if approved, will take effect from the next daily cycle. It is currently still in the forum discussion phase.
