Trump to Introduce Measures Against Overseas Cryptocurrency Fraud
U.S. President Trump will hold an event on cybercrime prevention at the White House on October 21, where he will introduce government measures to combat overseas criminal networks that deceive Americans into participating in fraudulent cryptocurrency investments. Trump and his cabinet members will outline efforts to shut down fraudulent cryptocurrency investment websites and curb online impersonation scams. U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Mark Wayne Mullin, FBI Director Kash Patel, Secretary of Defense Peter Hegseth, and Attorney General Todd Branch are expected to attend. An FBI report indicates that Americans submitted over 1,000,000 complaints of online fraud to the FBI in 2025, a 17% increase from 2024.
