Tradewiz Loses Approximately $459,000 in Theft Linked to 27 Transactions
Tradewiz has reported the theft of approximately $459,000 in assets, with the receiving address associated with a wallet that previously completed 27 transactions via a trading bot. The incident occurred on September 30, affecting 20,933 wallets, with losses involving SOL, tokens, and deposits retrieved after closing token accounts, calculated at a SOL price of $120. Investigations reveal that the main fund transfers began 41 minutes after the incident, with about 73% of the SOL being transferred thereafter. Tradewiz stated that the incident involved the leakage of private keys related to the SOL PVP export function and has promised to compensate users for their losses, with the first batch of refunds already issued, pending verification for claims. Tradewiz has suspended EVM services for security checks, with police assisting in tracking the assets and contacting exchanges for identity and account verification information. Some early funds originated from MEXC withdrawals, later redirected to Kucoin deposit addresses, with no indication of involvement from either exchange in the theft.
