Security AI Limits Access to Virtual Assets

The security competition among virtual asset companies is widening due to disparities surrounding access to frontier AI models. Some verified companies are using high-performance models to identify vulnerabilities, but major exchanges appear to lack access. According to Cointelegraph, only a few large virtual asset companies have access to Anthropic's restricted model 'Claude Mythos 5', with Coinbase reportedly securing access in June. Anthropic's Project Glasswing is a restricted access program for cyber defense, with initial partners including Amazon Web Services, Apple, Google, and JP Morgan Chase among ten companies. On May 22, about 50 partners announced they had discovered over 10,000 security flaws using the Claude Mythos preview. Binance's Chief Security Officer mentioned that they have not yet secured models like Mythos. AI is already being utilized in the virtual asset security field, with the Ethereum Foundation stating that AI agents have identified actual bugs. OpenAI also operates a restricted access system, and the U.S. government is discussing a cybersecurity risk assessment framework. Anthropic temporarily suspended access to Mythos 5 on June 12, but access for some U.S. organizations has since been restored.
