Circle Gateway Adds cirBTC And EURC Support
Circle announced on October 23 that its Gateway service now supports wrapped Bitcoin token cirBTC and euro stablecoin EURC, alongside USDC. This allows developers to manage three different assets through a unified interface. Each asset maintains its own balance, meaning depositing EURC does not fund a cirBTC withdrawal or convert euros to dollars. The service simplifies balance management for businesses, particularly those serving euro customers across multiple networks. Circle's documentation indicates that cirBTC is supported on Arc and Ethereum, while EURC is available on Arc, Avalanche, Base, Ethereum, Solana, and World Chain. Circle claims cross-chain access in under 500 milliseconds after a balance is established, excluding the time for deposits to finalize. New assets also integrate with Circle's Nanopayments system, although EURC Nanopayments are limited to Ethereum Virtual Machine networks. At launch, Circle is waiving Gateway fees for cirBTC and EURC on Arc, but developers must evaluate the entire transaction process, including deposits and withdrawals.
