Samsung and SK Hynix Leveraged Products See Nearly $1 Billion Outflow This Month
Leveraged ETFs linked to South Korean chip manufacturers have seen nearly $1 billion in outflows this month. Products tracking Samsung Electronics experienced an outflow of $381 million in August, while those tracking SK Hynix saw an outflow of $601 million. This marks the first monthly outflow for these products since their launch at the end of May. In July, global AI trading faced a sell-off, with the South Korean Kospi index dropping by 22% in a single month. Subsequently, South Korean regulators raised the minimum margin requirements for new investors purchasing such products and mandated a five-day simulated trading period.
