Salaries at DefTech in June 2026 Reached $2500

The median salary for DefTech specialists in Ukraine in June 2026 was $2500, unchanged over the past six months. Developers earned an average of $3200, which is $350 more than in winter, but 9% less than the overall IT sector. The average salary at DefTech remains lower than in Ukrainian IT: $2500 compared to $2700. In some specializations, DefTech pays more, especially among DevOps and SRE specialists, whose salaries are $1400 higher than in IT. For Data Science, AI, and ML, the difference is $1225, for Product Management — $450, and for QA — $150. The highest median salaries at DefTech are for DevOps Engineers — $5000, Hardware Engineers — $4000, and Product Managers — $3700. The median salary for developers at DefTech increased by $350 to $3200, while in IT it is around $3500. The highest salaries among DefTech developers are for Full Stack — $3700, Back-end — $3250, and Embedded — $3000. The gap with IT is noticeable among experienced specialists: Lead+ at DefTech earn $4500 compared to $5200 in IT. Python is the most common programming language at DefTech, with a median salary of $3600. 47% of DefTech specialists work in a hybrid model, while 33% work exclusively from the office. 66% of specialists live in Kyiv, and the median age of employees is 31 years.
