NVIDIA to Report Quarterly Earnings This Wednesday, Surpassing Expectations for 14 Consecutive Quarters
NVIDIA will announce its quarterly earnings after the market closes this Wednesday, marking a crucial point in assessing whether the AI investment boom will continue. Analysts suggest paying attention to CEO Jensen Huang's comments to gauge whether investments in AI infrastructure can maintain rapid growth. Market expectations for NVIDIA's earnings report are rising, with data showing that the company has exceeded analysts' profit expectations for the past 14 quarters. In the most recent quarter, the company's net profit grew by 210% year-over-year, surpassing Wall Street's forecast of 126%. Analysts expect NVIDIA's revenue for the second quarter to reach a record $92 billion, up from the initial forecast of $78 billion at the beginning of the year. The company needs to achieve over $51.5 billion in profit to exceed market expectations. NVIDIA's stock price has shown a pattern following earnings reports, with declines on the next trading day after the last four earnings announcements. The options market anticipates a potential 5.3% volatility in the stock price following the earnings report, which is higher than the average over the past 12 months. Some investors are betting on a price correction, but analysts remain optimistic. HSBC Research Director Frank Lee raised NVIDIA's target price from $325 to $360, citing the company's strategic partnerships with suppliers and its significant role in the open-source AI sector.
