A New Border Crossing Point 'Yablonivka -- Remeta' to Be Built in Transcarpathia
Preparations have begun for the project of a new automobile border crossing point "Yablonivka -- Remeta" on the border with Romania and the reconstruction of a 9.4 km road in Transcarpathia. The project is being implemented under the Interreg VI-A NEXT Romania -- Ukraine 2021--2027 program with financial support from the EU. The Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in the Transcarpathian region will develop two feasibility studies: for the construction of the border crossing point and for the reconstruction of the T-07-37 Khust -- Shayan -- Vyshkovo -- Bushtyno road. The project has been registered with the Cabinet of Ministers' secretariat and has received an international technical assistance registration card No. 6609. The implementation of the project is planned from May 28, 2026, to November 27, 2027, with a total budget of €842,419, of which the EU grant amounts to €758,177. Project partners include the Transcarpathian Regional Development Agency, the Maramureș County Council in Romania, and the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in the Transcarpathian region. The result of the project will be the preparation of the technical and organizational basis for the opening of the new border crossing point and the development of transport communication between Ukraine and Romania.
