Fed Interest Rate Decision, PCE Data, and Japan's Interest Rate Situation to be Announced
This week, significant developments will occur in the macroeconomic world. On Wednesday, the U.S. Federal Reserve (Fed) will announce its new interest rate decision, with markets expecting a 90% chance that the Fed will keep rates unchanged. The statements from Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh will also be closely monitored. One day after the Fed's decision, the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) inflation data will be released. In particular, attention will be paid to whether the core PCE falls below 3%. On Thursday, the European Central Bank (ECB) will also announce its interest rate decision. On Friday, the Bank of Japan (BoJ) will announce its new interest rate decision. Recently, Japan raised its interest rate from 0.75% to 1.25%, and it is expected to keep rates unchanged this time. The statements from BoJ Governor Ueda will also be significant. Additionally, the U.S. Congressional elections scheduled for November 3 are still in the spotlight, especially with rising oil prices. The U.S. President stated that the oil prices are a cost of preventing Iran from becoming a nuclear power. Rising gasoline prices are expected to be a decisive factor in the elections.
