The Cyberspace Administration of China has launched the second phase of the special campaign "Clear and Rectify AI Application Chaos," focusing on issues such as the use of AI to generate false information and violent, vulgar content. So far, over 5.61 million illegal and violative pieces of information have been cleared, more than 49,000 accounts have been dealt with, and over 2,400 violative websites and applications have been addressed. Platforms like Douyin, Kuaishou, Weibo, and Tencent have strengthened their multimodal recognition capabilities and issued 46 governance announcements. AI platforms such as Doubao, Yuanbao, Qianwen, and Wenxin Yiyan have strictly limited the output of violative content and reinforced requirements for labeling AI-generated content. App stores from Huawei, Xiaomi, OPPO, and vivo have enhanced the admission and review processes for app developers and conducted random inspections and retests. During the special campaign, the cyberspace authorities reported several typical cases, including the use of AI to generate false disaster information and impersonate public figures. Violative AI products and applications will face legal actions such as warnings, fines, removals, or closures.
