Consolidation of the Crypto Market in France, Coinhouse and Kaiko Acquire Competitors
The French crypto-asset market is experiencing rapid consolidation since the implementation of the MiCA regulation. Alphacap Digital Assets recently acquired the investor portfolio of Mon Livret C, after obtaining the MiCA PSCA approval on June 25. Coinhouse has also strengthened its position by purchasing Tilvest, a crypto-asset management platform, allowing it to integrate nearly 500 partners. Kaiko acquired Cometh, specializing in blockchain infrastructure, thus expanding its offering towards regulated services for financial institutions. In January 2025, Qwarks had already taken over the clientele of Ouro Capital, adding more than 6 million euros in assets under management. These acquisitions demonstrate a trend where solid companies seek to grow by integrating client portfolios and technologies, while smaller firms prefer to divest their operations in the face of compliance costs.
