Coldcard Wave 3 Attackers Transfer Stolen Funds for the First Time, Some Assets Converted to ETH
Recently, the attackers of Coldcard Wave 3 have transferred stolen funds for the first time and converted some assets to ETH through the cross-chain decentralized exchange platform THORChain. This marks the first time funds have been moved from the attackers' initial wallet addresses to other on-chain addresses in the Wave 1, Wave 2, or Wave 3 attack events. Currently, about 90% of the stolen funds from Wave 3 remain untransferred. On-chain activity indicates that the attackers seem to be encountering some issues while converting funds through THORChain, as some transactions are repeatedly being refunded, but the attackers continue to attempt to convert the remaining funds.
