Bitcoin Bank Adoption Index Rises to 34%, Fidelity Ranks First
The Bitcoin Bank Adoption Index from Strategy rose to 34% in the third quarter of 2026, indicating that major banks worldwide are increasingly adopting Bitcoin and digital asset services, although the overall adoption remains in its early stages. Fidelity leads with a 77% adoption rate, followed by JPMorgan Chase at 47% and BNY at 46%. The increase in this quarter's index is primarily driven by the expansion of Bitcoin ETF/ETP product access, the growth of institutional custody services, and the development of lending services using BTC as collateral. Additionally, advancements in stablecoins and asset tokenization have also contributed to the index's rise. Traditional financial institutions are gradually exploring digital asset infrastructure, with Bitcoin-related services extending into custody, financing, and financial application scenarios.
