Arthur Hayes: The FLOP Project Could Be Bigger Than Bitcoin

By:Β mihanblockchain.com|10/12/2026 19:30:00

Arthur Hayes, co-founder of the BitMEX exchange, announced that the FLOP project, which focuses on the artificial intelligence processing market, could one day be valued more than Bitcoin. This project is still in the early stages of development, and its testnet will be launched in the coming weeks. Hayes referred to Reed's Law, which states that as the number of users in a network increases, its value grows rapidly. However, no specific model has yet been published to support his prediction, and the technical document for FLOP is still in draft form. FLOP is building a blockchain that allows artificial intelligence agents to pay for computational power and data storage. In this model, owners of graphics cards and data centers are rewarded. The testnet for this project will be launched within the next 90 days to evaluate performance and determine the share of participants in the initial airdrop. The design of FLOP is inspired by Bitcoin, and blocks are produced approximately every second. Unlike many cryptocurrency projects, this project does not have a pre-sale or quota for venture investors, and Hayes has personally funded the team's expenses. FLOP will need to operate in a competitive market with projects like Render and Ocean Network, and its success will depend on its ability to create real demand for processing services.
