Salaries of Educators to Increase by 20% Starting September 1
In Ukraine, starting September 1, 2026, the salaries of pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical workers will increase by 20%. Combined with the January increase of 30%, the total growth for the year will amount to 50%. The model for calculating salaries in the education sector will change. The Unified Tariff Scale will be abandoned, and the base salary will depend on the position and the average salary in the economy. This will ensure a more significant increase in final payments. The reform will affect general secondary and higher education institutions, inclusive resource centers, and all state educational establishments. Local self-government bodies are recommended to implement a similar increase for employees in preschool and extracurricular education. Targeted incentive payments have been preserved: teachers in frontline areas will receive an additional payment of 2,600 hryvnias, while college instructors in defense-related specialties will receive a 10% salary supplement. Previously, the government planned a phased increase in payments to teachers by 50% per year.
