Spain's CNMV Strengthens Rules for Financial Advertising and Finfluencers
The National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) of Spain and Autocontrol signed an agreement on September 15, 2026, to oversee financial advertising. The agreement focuses on finfluencers, content creators about investment and crypto assets, to prevent digital fraud. The initiative aims for greater transparency in the commercial digitalization on social media. Carlos San Basilio, president of the CNMV, and José Miguel García-Ganso Martínez, president of Autocontrol, will coordinate efforts to protect investors in digital environments. The collaboration includes financial training and fraud prevention, justified by the high presence of financial content on the internet. In April, the CNMV reviewed nearly a hundred accounts of financial creators, finding behaviors.
