The Solana community is currently reviewing two proposals, SIMD-0553 and SIMD-0550. SIMD-0553 introduces a resource-based transaction fee system, and if passed, the amount of SOL burned is expected to increase from approximately 650 to between 7,500 and 9,000. SIMD-0550 expands the annual deflation rate from 15% to 30%, bringing forward the point at which inflation reaches its lower bound from 2032 to 2029. The current proposal has garnered support from about 5.8% of the active stake, totaling 24.94 million SOL, and must secure 15% support by August 18 to have a chance of passing. The simultaneous passage of both proposals increases the likelihood of converting SOL into a deflationary token. Experts believe that these proposals could strengthen Solana's long-term value proposition, analyzing that it secures a technological edge through RWA tokenization and the rollout of AlpenGlow. Recently, Solana rose by 0.72% over the past 24 hours, but has decreased by 0.09% over the last week. The circulating supply is approximately 581.3 million, with a total supply of 631.63 million.
