Sam Price Analyzes September CPI Data and Energy Shock
According to Twitter user Sam Price, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 3.7% year-on-year in September, with the core CPI at 2.6%. U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent pointed out in a program that this increase is due to energy shocks related to the conflict in Iran, with core trends being relatively mild before September. Despite the softness in core data, the sticky overall CPI keeps the Federal Reserve cautious. The images show that WTI crude oil prices reached $97.49 per barrel on October 19, reflecting volatility in the energy market.
