River Suggests Long-Term Investors Increase Bitcoin Allocation to 10%
Bitcoin financial services company River has released a report recommending that long-term investors increase their Bitcoin allocation to as much as 10%. The report indicates that the traditional 60/40 stock-bond portfolio is no longer applicable, with annualized returns between 5% and 15% from 1980 to 2020. Due to inflation, debt, and the reversal of stock-bond correlation, U.S. Treasury debt is expected to exceed $40 trillion by August 2026. Simulations over the past decade show that if 10% of Bitcoin replaces part of the bonds, the portfolio's terminal value would rise from $25,364 to $60,595, with the maximum drawdown increasing by only 6 percentage points. As of August 2026, Bitcoin is expected to account for about 0.5% of global financial assets.
