OpenPaid Adds Stablecoin Settlement Functionality through Circle Payment Network Integration
OpenPaid has integrated with Circle's payment network to introduce stablecoin settlement functionality for cross-border fiat currency payments for businesses. Corporate clients can handle fiat currency remittances and receipts without their own blockchain infrastructure. Businesses will use fiat currencies such as euros and pounds but will utilize stablecoins like USD Coin (USDC) and EURC during the settlement phase. OpenPaid announced that it supports near-real-time settlements for payment routes from euros to Brazilian reals and from pounds to Mexican pesos. The Circle Payments Network connects participating financial institutions to coordinate cross-border payment flows, supporting 24-hour settlements and local currency disbursements. This integration allows businesses to use stablecoins as a settlement method without changing their perceived currency. Established in 2018, OpenPaid processes over $280 billion in payments annually for more than 1,200 companies. This integration has broadened the scope of integrating domestic payment networks, international banking networks, and stablecoin infrastructure.
