OpenAI Launches AI Agent Dots, Plans to Raise $30 Billion at a Valuation of $1.4 Trillion

OpenAI has launched its resident AI agent, Dots, which directly competes with Meta's Muse. Dots operates on the GPT-6 version of the Astra model and can interact with users through ChatGPT, Slack, and Microsoft Teams, performing tasks such as research, document drafting, and software development while operating computers and calling third-party applications. OpenAI has also introduced a premium subscription priced at $500 per month, which is five times the highest tier of Muse, and has adjusted some usage permissions for the $200 plan. OpenAI is seeking to raise at least $30 billion at a valuation of approximately $1.4 trillion, serving as bridge financing following a delayed IPO, with discussions still in the early stages. The last round of financing for OpenAI was completed in March this year, with a valuation of $852 billion.
