Nomura Group's digital asset division, Laser Digital, has made a strategic investment in ZIGChain, a Layer 1 blockchain in the UAE, with the specific amount undisclosed but expected to be in the millions of dollars. This collaboration aims to promote the development of the private credit market in the Gulf countries, covering products compliant with Islamic law. ZIGChain has previously engaged in business with Standard Chartered Bank and fund services giant Apex Group.
