Liquid AI has launched the LFM2.5-2.6B edge agent model, featuring 2.6 billion parameters. After quantization, it occupies approximately 2.5GB of memory, with a generation speed of about 30 tokens per second on mobile devices. Official evaluations show that this model outperforms Qwen3.5-9B in three tests: tool invocation, multi-turn instruction adherence, and structured output, despite Qwen3.5-9B having 9.7 billion parameters, nearly four times more. Nevertheless, Qwen3.5-9B still holds advantages in coding and certain complex agent tasks.
