Lido Expands Ethereum Staking Credibility with Web3SOC Certification
Lido (LDO) has received Web3SOC certification, validating the credibility of its Ethereum (ETH) staking infrastructure. This certification was conducted on the governance, finance, security, and legal/compliance frameworks of the Lido DAO and protocol. Lido announced on its official blog on May 6 that Cantina conducted the evaluation and granted the certification. Web3SOC serves as a due diligence standard for DeFi organizations, encompassing smart contracts, validator infrastructure, key management, and on-chain decision-making structures. Lido emphasized its Community Staking Module (CSM) and described the permissionless staking structure of the Ethereum protocol. As of the 28th, the CSM recorded 433 permissionless operators, an 8.3% share of permissionless staking, and initial capital requirements ranging from 1.5 to 32 ETH. Lido plans to launch the CSM mainnet in October 2024 and transition to a fully permissionless phase in January 2025. Certification is crucial in institutional due diligence, and Lido stated that the Web3SOC evaluation is designed to comprehensively review governance, finance, security, and regulatory areas. Staking Ether (stETH) received an A+ rating. The improvement of CSM's decentralization will be verified through operational data.
