J.P. Morgan Predicts Recovery in Global AI and Semiconductor Trade
Analysts at J.P. Morgan highlight the recent setback in the artificial intelligence sector within global trade, which has strengthened investors' positions and yielded attractive returns. Mislav Matejka, head of analysis at J.P. Morgan, notes that although the tech sector may not return to past levels of success, the fundamentals are positive and there are opportunities in AI. Doubts about the tech slowdown have lost momentum on Wall Street. J.P. Morgan indicates that the compression of multiples has cleaned up the AI market, and the firmness of capital spending and monetization tests support a new bullish cycle. However, following a rally in the early months of the year, AI assets are facing profit-taking, intensified by warnings from CEOs about unchecked advances. J.P. Morgan anticipates a recovery in the stock market, driven by solid balances and a more stable macroeconomic environment. For the semiconductor sector, the outlook is bullish, with firm prices expected until 2027 and supply constraints continuing until 2028. The MSCI World Semiconductors and Semiconductor Equipment Index has accumulated an increase of nearly 48% so far this year.
