Hyundai Steel Collaborates with Hanmi Global on Data Center Structural Steel
Hyundai Steel has partnered with Hanmi Global to collaborate on construction steel for data centers and semiconductor production facilities. The two companies plan to review the application of fire-resistant steel and high-strength profiles from the design stage and present a structural steel model. Hyundai Steel announced on the 19th that it has signed a 'Mutual Business Agreement to Enhance Technical Competitiveness in the Construction Sector' with Hanmi Global. This agreement focuses on increasing the utilization of steel in the early design and construction method review stages. Under the agreement, both companies will analyze and find application methods for construction steel, including fire-resistant steel and high-strength profiles, from the design stage. In data center construction, construction period and economic viability are considered key variables, and Hyundai Steel reported that the data center industry is showing interest in structural steel methods. Structural steel refers to a construction method that uses steel frames as the main structural component, requiring consideration of structural stability, processes, and costs during the initial review stage. Hyundai Steel aims to expand the applicability of structural steel in new data center constructions through this collaboration and showcase its total package capabilities across all steel grades. Specific project names, supply volumes, and contract amounts have not been disclosed.
