Asset management firm Hashdex has announced the closure and liquidation of its Hashdex Bitcoin ETF (NYSE Arca: DEFI). As of July 30, the fund had approximately $14.7 million in assets under management. Hashdex's products aimed at U.S. investors currently manage over $200 million in assets. The last trading day for the fund's shares will be August 17, after which it will stop accepting purchase orders from authorized participants and will be delisted from NYSE Arca. Shareholders holding shares will receive cash liquidation distributions, expected to be paid around August 28, with the distribution amount reflecting factors such as Bitcoin price fluctuations during the liquidation period. Hashdex stated that the decision to close was based on a comprehensive assessment of factors including asset management scale, trading liquidity, operational costs, and investor interest.
