Ethereum Staking: Interactive Brokers Launches Service for Eligible Clients via ZeroHash
The Exchange meets validation. On Tuesday, October 13, brokerage firm Interactive Brokers launched cryptocurrency staking for its eligible clients, with Ethereum leading the way. The service relies on ZeroHash, the infrastructure already used by the platform. This adds another yield option for a broker that had already connected its deposits to USDC 24/7.
Key Points of This Article:
- Interactive Brokers has launched Ethereum staking for its eligible clients through the infrastructure of ZeroHash.
- Additionally, stake and unstake requests are managed from a dashboard in the Client Portal, with tracking of pending operations.
- Thus, rewards return in additional cryptocurrencies still in stake, and the client retains at least 70% of the total.
- Finally, each network sets its own rules, and withdrawals remain subject to the protocol's waiting periods.
A Dashboard, Ether, and Compounding Rewards
The announcement came on Tuesday, and our colleagues at Crypto Briefing detail the mechanics. Eligible clients can submit stake and unstake requests from a dedicated dashboard in the Client Portal, which also displays pending operations. In practice, the rewards received join the staked position in the form of additional tokens. In other words, the position capitalizes as long as it remains locked, somewhat like compound interest on a savings account, blockchain version.
INTERACTIVE BROKERS LAUNCHES ETHEREUM STAKING FOR CLIENTS, PROVIDED BY ZEROHASH: PRESS RELEASE --- zoomer (@zoomerfied) October 13, 2026
However, the costs are outlined in the brokerage's contractual documents. The supplement to the client agreement caps the combined fees of Interactive Brokers and ZeroHash at 30% of the rewards generated. The client thus retains at least 70% of the pie. According to this document, each proof-of-stake network sets its own rules, and withdrawals follow the protocol's waiting periods. A technical constraint, not a whim of the broker. On Ethereum, exiting the stake goes through queues that can stretch depending on the load, hence the importance of planning one's lock-up horizon.
ZeroHash Connects TradFi to Validation
As a reminder, this initiative dates back to June. At that time, ZeroHash unveiled its staking offering as a service for brokers, banks, and fintech platforms. Interactive Brokers was already among the launch partners, alongside Public and BitMart. Milan Galik, CEO of the brokerage, promised to offer staking alongside existing products. Furthermore, the brokerage expanded its catalog in July. Nine tokens joined the lineup via ZeroHash and three via Paxos, for a total of no less than 20 assets including Bitcoin, Ether, Solana (SOL), and XRP.
However, the opening remains geographically measured. The service targets eligible clients of Interactive Brokers LLC, the U.S. subsidiary, and availability varies by subsidiary and country of residence. A significant expansion towards Solana staking was mentioned as the next step as soon as ZeroHash's announcement. Ultimately, the brokerage joins the ranks of traditional finance giants moving into the crypto space, like JPMorgan with its $50 billion flow in 2026. Ethereum thus gains an additional public validation channel. It remains to be seen whether wealth managers will follow suit or if staking will remain a niche exercise among brokers.
