A recent survey shows that 23% of Swiss adults use cryptocurrency at least occasionally, significantly higher than Austria's 18% and Germany's 11%. Additionally, 37% of Swiss respondents believe that cryptocurrency is worth investing in, 45% think it could serve as a currency for international trade or reserves in the future, and 44% express willingness to use central bank digital currencies (CBDC), all of which are higher than the figures in Germany and Austria. The report notes that since the implementation of the DLT Act in 2021, Switzerland has developed a mature cryptocurrency ecosystem, with Crypto Valley hosting 1,749 blockchain and DLT companies. Germany, on the other hand, plans to promote cryptocurrency asset services through traditional banking channels like DZ Bank and Dekabank to narrow the adoption gap with Switzerland.
