Bitcoin Hash Rate Drops 19%, Setting Record for Longest Decline in History
The 30-day average hash rate of Bitcoin has decreased by 19% since November 2025, falling from 1108 EH/s to 898 EH/s. Data from Glassnode shows that this nine-month decline is the longest in the network's history. This drop in hash rate coincides with the largest capital migration among mining companies, which hold over $70 billion in AI contracts. Some of the power capacity originally used for Bitcoin mining has shifted to AI hosting, making it potentially difficult to return.
