Artem Romanyukov Appointed Acting Head of the Defense Procurement Agency
The Supervisory Board of the Defense Procurement Agency unanimously supported the appointment of Artem Romanyukov as the acting head during the competitive selection period. The decision was made after his candidacy was approved by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The search for a permanent head and members of the Supervisory Board is ongoing. The agency is preparing to procure the services of a recruiting company, with the competitive selection expected to be completed by the end of 2026. Meanwhile, an agreement has been signed with the recruiting company Friisberg & Partners International to search for candidates for two positions of independent members of the Supervisory Board. The process is coordinated by the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Artem Romanyukov has experience in defense procurement and public administration, having previously headed the Procurement Policy Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The Director of the Agency, Arsen Zhumadilov, prematurely terminated his contract and left the position on August 31, 2026. The agency was established in 2022 to separate arms procurement from the Ministry of Defense.
