4 Dormant Bitcoin Wallets Transfer 202.84 BTC Worth $15.73 Million
Four long-dormant Bitcoin wallets became active again between August 29 and September 4, transferring 202.84 BTC, valued at approximately $15.73 million. The largest address held 146.06 BTC, which had been dormant for nearly 12.8 years since November 2013, showing a price increase of about 12,902% based on a cost of around $595. Another address held 40 BTC, which had not moved since November 2011, currently valued at about $3.09 million, with an average cost of around $3, reflecting a price increase of approximately 2,571,899%. Additionally, there are addresses with 10 BTC and 6.78 BTC that have been inactive since June 2011 and February 2011, respectively. Galaxy Research identified the recipient of the 6.78 BTC transfer as Coinbase, which is typically associated with selling intentions. Some of the reactivated addresses were tagged with the sender label "Noah Doe," pointing to a lawsuit in New York that seeks to declare thousands of dormant addresses as abandoned property, which was paused by a judge in June.
